26th January 2016

CAS organised a lecture on the 26th of January 2016 at the ULAB Auditorium. The keynote speaker was Mr. David Michelmore and the title of his lecture was “Archaeology in Bangladesh: opportunities for upgrading and future development.”

The presentation explored ways in which archaeological practice can be upgraded and modernized, new research and survey techniques available, as well as how the conservation of excavated remains needs to be transformed to meet accepted international standards and to abandon the highly destructing practices which remain the norm, severely damaging or destroying the authenticity of heritage sites.
